Tobogganing in Ithaca, New York

This certainly looks like fun. There was no message written on the back of this card; they were probably too busy having fun at the toboggan slide. Toboggans were a traditional form of transport for the early Innu and Cree tribes of northern Canada.

  1. Why did they need to build a ramp when they are already on a steep hillside?

  3. I think the ramp ensures maximum speed without collisions?

  6. I guess we'd have to contact those early Ithacans or Cornell University, which is where the slide was located, to find out why they built it that way. I suspect it was because of the preferred landing area at Beebe Lake.
