East Water Street -Elmira, New York

Here are two old views of E. Water Street from Railroad Ave. and here's what it looks like today:

Although there are some very nice remaining old buildings in Elmira, the ones on E. Water Street appear to be gone.

    I love comparing the Google views to the postcards. What a great idea. And these old views of my hometown are very nostalgic, and a bit sad when we see what the city looks like today. Elmira was a major victim of urban renewal in the 1960s and a flood in 1972, and downtown was never the same.
