That must be the Hotel Negresco in the backround of the top card. The statue is still there, but the Palais de la Jetee sure isn't. It seems to have been a popular subject for postcards, though. I wonder what was in it.
I love antique postcards because they preserve evidence of everyday life as well as celebrations and sad events. Looking at an old postcard is like holding a single piece of a puzzle; we have to imagine the rest.
