Is this related to the nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle?
Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Or does it suggest that moonlight is perfect for spooning?
I got a postcard in the mail yesterday from another blogger! Anna @ Chickens in the Basement! She sent me gourd seeds and a postcard! Colonial Williamsburg...one of my favorite places. There's that moon again. I've seen lots of moon posts lately. Very nice ones, though. ~Randy
I'd vote for the latter, since the rhyme suggests that the spoon wants to hook up with the dish... Unless, of course, 'dish' is just code for another round disk, the moon....
I love antique postcards because they preserve evidence of everyday life as well as celebrations and sad events. Looking at an old postcard is like holding a single piece of a puzzle; we have to imagine the rest.
I will try to put up a postcard every day. If you have a special request for a particular city or place, let me know!
Lovely postcard - thanks for sharing.
