I drive past a little old dairy farm on my way to work each day. There are only 8 or so cows left, and it amazes me how odoriferous they are. I cannot even imagine what the Chicago Stockyards must have smelled like back in their heyday...
Anyway, earlier this week, one of the cows escaped and made a break for it down the road. The farmer was running after it with a big stick. I had to pull off the road and wait for them to pass me by, and I thought, "hmm...there's something you don't see every day." And now here is your cow card posting. It's turning into a very bovine week!
I love antique postcards because they preserve evidence of everyday life as well as celebrations and sad events. Looking at an old postcard is like holding a single piece of a puzzle; we have to imagine the rest.
I will try to put up a postcard every day. If you have a special request for a particular city or place, let me know!

I guess a bovine week is preferable to a porcine week.
