Happy Birthday

If today is your birthday, don't worry about paying your taxes. I'm sure the IRS will understand.

The message on the last card, sent to Lydia Spies, reads:

Dear Lydia
May Years be made of Sunny Days,
And Lifes own sky be blue,
With friendship shedding full its rays on all your dreams come tue
from your friend
Caroline Plath   ...presumably no relation to Sylvia Plath

  1. Say, are those hummingbirds on that first postcard?

  2. What a strange image on that last card. They are Forget-me-nots I assume, but what are they in?

  3. Hee Hee, Christine, I find it fitting you open with a "best wishes" postcard just underneath the opening statement about that dreadful word "taxes". How funny and appropriate as some of us may need that blessing around tax time!!!!! Have a beautiful week and I am so happy you love your new jewels I sent you!

  5. These are (overly) joyous postcards, not the trademark of a tormented soul like poor Sylvia...

  6. Mark,
I think they are supposed to be hummingbirds, but I've never seen any like that.

    Alan,
Why, it's an upside down Centurion helmet, of course. What else would you put forget-me-nots in?

  9. I think I'm going to start saying "Birthday Congratulations" instead of "Happy Birthday"! These are beautiful cards!
