I retract any statement I may have made that would suggest these girls (or the Olson twins) were up to no good. You can see that they're very angelic, with no ill intent.
No. No. I'm not buying it. They remind me of the girl who moved to my junior high who had been a catalogue model in New York. She was unbearable to be around. These girls most certainly made life miserable for some poor girls in their school. They are too saccharine sweet with a smugness that grates. However...it is a sort of pretty little card.
That poor catalog model was probably desperately unhappy, just as these poor dears are...forced to pose with eggs all day. And, well...the Olson twins, where do we start?
I love antique postcards because they preserve evidence of everyday life as well as celebrations and sad events. Looking at an old postcard is like holding a single piece of a puzzle; we have to imagine the rest.
I will try to put up a postcard every day. If you have a special request for a particular city or place, let me know!
Okay, girls, that's more than une oeuf.
ReplyDeleteThat is kinda creepy... the resemblance of the one on the left is uncanny, and they've even got the garters and boots going on.
ReplyDeleteSooo....what is the story behind this??? You've piqued my curiosity. Sinister? Is there a story here? If so, I'd love to hear it.
ReplyDeleteKewl!
