Ven You See Von Feller Vinking

Thanks to Cora Huffsmith, I have more Dutch stereotype cards to post. I hopes you loves zem.

The sentiment on most of these is very sweet, but not so much on this one.

Here are the backs of the cards in the same order.

  1. Very charming greetings on those sweet post cards. They remind me a bit of the Ole and Lena characters from Minnesota! They are funny, and cute!

  2. I'm moving and while packing and sorting found a rolling pin. Now I know what to do with it. I'll just have to find the right man.

  3. I was just looking at some of my Dutch cards the other day. I'm wondering how this whole style started.

  5. You know, I didn't realize there was such a series of these postcards. I know they are stereotypical but I still love them. Except the last one, not so much.) Thanks for sharing them, Christine.

  6. Like the colors and forms on the third one, but think the last one is definitely the best. I doubt many women clobbered their men with rolling pins, although they probably wanted to sometimes- it is alot more likely that the men were doing the whacking, but don't know if there any cards joking about that... It actually brought up fun memories of my grandmother chasing me around the house with a wooden spoon when I was a kid and had acted up- she was all bark and no bite though when she caught me!

  7. Not just a great selection of cards, but a great selection of handwriting as well.

  8. There seem to be a lot of comic cards with a woman hitting a man with a rolling pin.
