I love the Tuckahoe Acres Sign. I collect signs and roadside Indians, and that card has both. I am thinking about starting to post my "bad postcards" (which are really more amusing than bad).
Looks like the Grotto is in the Alps, based on the landscape in the distance.... I would have guessed that 'Tuckahoe' was come cross pollination of Truckee and Tahoe, but nope, the place is in little old Delaware and still exists- pack up the Winnebago, honey!
I love antique postcards because they preserve evidence of everyday life as well as celebrations and sad events. Looking at an old postcard is like holding a single piece of a puzzle; we have to imagine the rest.
I will try to put up a postcard every day. If you have a special request for a particular city or place, let me know!
I think the top one is the weirdest although the grotto runs it pretty close!
ReplyDeleteThese are just so bad.......very funny and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes they definitely deserve a category all of their own.
