The Faces of Susquehanna - Part One

Susquehanna Depot, Pennsylvania, also known simply as Susquehanna, currently has a population of 1,643.  There are no names on these portraits, but they are all from G.O. Sweet's studio. More portraits from Susquehanna coming soon

    A lovely collection, the outline of the leaf as a frame in the first one is wonderful, wouldn't G O Sweet have loved photoshop!

    These remind me of the photo collection I saw at a local Civil War in my hometown recently. These were the type of photos the soldiers carried with them on both sides.

    I second the motion on the hairstyles, and cast another 'favorite' vote for the leaf profile pic, that would be popular today too. And the fringe on the chair arm in the second shot is outta control...

    There is such a universality about the portraits : they could have been from Europe or the States or Australia - but they could have only been from that particular time. fashions form faces I suppose.
