Fatherless Children of France

After World War I, many children in France were left orphaned or fatherless. Donations were sought to support newly-established orphanages and to support widowed mothers.

The message reads:
Best Wishes to Grace for a Merry Christmas

  1. It seems every age has its orphaned children. What a meaningful window this is. I wonder about all the AIDS orphans in Africa in this generation.

  2. Orphaned children are a deep social problem in marriages. A divorce nowadays does mean, in many instances, the children are without parents. The parents go off into a life on their own leaving the children to fend for themselves.

  3. That is an interesting card. I'm glad you showed the back too because I have wondered whether Whitney made postcards other than the typical holiday greetings.
