The second card was sent to Minnie Crosby in Norwich, new York in 1915.
Dear Auntie:

please excouse writting From Clara W.
they are really touching when you read the original message :)
ReplyDeletelovely cards!
The cards are embellished, but "the writting"...:)
ReplyDeleteThe fronts of the cards are lovely...the backs...not so much.
ReplyDeleteThe writing is obviously done by a child.
ReplyDeleteThe cards, however, have much more style that the mush that is served up today
The ornate geometric work framing the barn/stream on the first card either looks like a mechanical frog's head or an awesome hat for Mickey Mouse to me, maybe I should have another beer... And the rose on the second one looks kinda deconstructed/giant/scary, as if it might eat the letter bearing bird- on second thought, maybe I should skip the beer!
ReplyDeleteFine cards and wonderful messages as well. The text messages of their day, the tweets of their time.
ReplyDeleteImage & Poetry! The Perfect Combination!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for pretty old birthday postcards.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteLike the first card, very sentiment.
Beautiful cards. The black is such a unique and wise choice against all the other color. It makes it pop! Great messages.
